Sage Abra's Tom Tillman To Present on Guiding HRMS Decisions Using the 'HR Maturity Model' at IHRIM's 2008 HRMStrategies Conference

St. Petersburg, Florida - Sage Software today announced that Tom Tillman, director of product marketing for HRMS, including the Sage Abra HRMS and Sage TimeSheet products, will present an education session at the International Association for Human Resources Information Management, Inc.'s (IHRIM) 2008 HRMStrategies Conference, to be held next week at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Part of the IHRIM event's Business Strategy Development knowledge area, Tillman's session is titled, "Guide Your HRMS Strategy Using the ‘HR Maturity Model'."

"Budgeting for and adopting HRMS technology can be especially challenging for growing small and mid-sized organizations," said Tillman. "HR professionals must consider a multitude of factors to successfully determine the HRMS capabilities most appropriate for their unique organization. Then, they have to secure the necessary funding to purchase the system. To help guide organizations in their HRMS strategy, I use the HR Maturity Model, which identifies how HR must adapt based on overall organizational development at different points in a business's maturity. Attendees of my IHRIM session will leave with the knowledge and tools to help them develop a more successful short- and long-term HRMS strategy."

Scheduled for Tuesday, June 3 at 8:15 a.m., Tillman's IHRIM session will discuss how and why both the HR function matures, and HRMS needs change, as organizations grow and evolve. Key HRMS drivers such as executive management philosophy and strategic vision, perceived role of the HR function, level of in-house HR expertise, company culture, internal process maturity, company size and complexity – will be examined.

Tillman has more than 10 years of experience in marketing and product management in the HR and payroll industry with Sage Software, and more than 25 years of experience in information technology industries. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management information systems from Florida State University, and an MBA in marketing from Florida Atlantic University. He often writes articles about the benefits and applications of HR technology for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) for trade magazines.
